Botany Active Directory upgrade

Project objectives
– Availability objective: the new Active Directory will have built-in service level availability so that service will not be disrupted in the event that one of the four servers is down.
– Security objective: the new Active Directory will have built- in security control over its member computers by comprehensive usage of Group Policy, Enterprise Anti-virus software, monitoring system and user management policy. All security setting will be aligned with federal and provincial law, UBC and Botany policies and security requirements.
– Continuity objective: the new Active Directory will be attached to a backup system that have two backup servers, and will be able to preserve selected user data for at least one year.
– Capability objective: the new Active Directory will be able to function as the framework for future AD related work load for the entire department.
